What you cannot put in a skip
Items deemed hazardous or harmful under skip hire, waste disposal legislation we must be informed.
Asbestos, explosives gas cylinder, chemicals fuel petrol diesel paint solvents bleach cleaning detergents motor oil cooking oils etc tyres batteries fridges No food waste/ nappies animal or medical waste,
Any found items will be returned to the hirer or charge at full disposal cost to landfill site
bed mattresses carpets/ underlay artificial grass roofing felt plasterboard
Please inform the driver about any questionable items
What you can put in a skip
If you have any problem or if in doubt you can always contact us for clarification
Bricks rubble soil domestic waste (NOT FOOD WASTE) empty tins furniture etc cookers garden waste metal plastic wood polystyrene
bed mattresses carpets/ underlay artificial grass roofing felt plasterboard can be put in to skip at extra cost. If you have any problem or if in doubt you can always contact us for clarification
CONDITIONS OF HIRE
1.The hire is responsible for obtaining any statutory permits or Approvals required.
2.The hire is responsible for any damage to or loss of the owner’s equipment whilst on hire.
3.The hirer shall ensure that skips are adequately protected, and suitable lights are provided during all hours of darkness to comply with all requirements of the police and local authority.
4.The hirer will be responsible for the safe-keeping of the contents of the skip clearing up of all spilt debris and damping down contents to prevent nuisance from dust.
5.The skip shall not be used for the deposit of noxious explosive, dangerous or offensive matter unless by prior agreement with the owners.
6.The Hirer shall indemnify the owners against any liability, loss. Claims or proceedings arising from personal injury or death to any person or from damage to property.
7.The hirer will be responsible for ensuring that the skips are not overloaded and in the event of a skip being overloaded the direct costs of labour and additional skip hire will be charged to the hire. (Lorry skips 7.5 tonnes.)
8.All deliveries will be to the nearest kerbside at the customer’s site. If the hirer instructs the driver to locate the skip off the public highway and any subsequent damage is made to the ground surface or property this would be the responsibility of the hirer.
9.one metre clear access around the skip must be always maintained for H&S requirements.
